Guest Busy Bee
Hi Qld are changing the entry age for school. For 2007 you have to be 5 before 30th June 2007 to enter the Prep Year (they are only taking half a years intake ie children born between Jan 2002 - Jun 2002). From 2008 the school age is being increased by six months so to be eligible for Prep you need to be born between July 2002 to June 2003, To enter Year 1 in 2008 you have to be at least six years and six months by the end of 2008. ie you must be born between July 2002 to June 2003. If you were confused to start with I'm sure it's not much clearer. Apparently Qld are getting in line with other states so we've been told! Rudi
CORRECTION FOR NSW For NSW the date is not taken on the 1st January, it's taken from the 31st July. ie You must turn 4 by 31st July in the year before you go to school to enter school the following year........so kids must be 4 years and 6 months by the 31st January, not the 1st Jan. Hope that clears things up for people in NSW Daphne
