Ausvisitor
Hi I'm curious as to what the medical screening entails and what sort of things would be considered as no-go as far as the AU government is concerned Anyone who knows this or had been through it and willing to share their knowledge? It would be gratefully received.
wrussell
A medical condition that is likely to cost the Australian government too much or use scarce resoures could result in a visa refusal. If you sknow or suspect that an applicant has such a conditon, sonsulting a registgered migration agent for an assessment would be a sound step. Ausvisitor
Thanks. I wasn't necessarily thinking about the biggies I was more wondering about do they care about general fitness and weight type stuff? I'm not the international athlete I was in my youth anymore
rammygirl
No. As stated above they want to be sure you won’t cost too much or use scarce resources. If you are very overweight or obviously unhealthy they might want to check for any other issues that might impact this. The chest x Ray looks for TB blood tests look for HIV OR Hepititis. Etc. Ausvisitor
Good to hear, I was worried that my donut addiction might cause problems...
rammygirl
Your donut addiction will be well catered for in Australia. diabetes meds cost more but won’t be a show stopper! Honestly if you are generally healthy with no serious or chronic condition you will be fine
