Sunny20 Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Hi Id like to pick your brains re pathway to permanent visa for docs - Ive been lurking for a while and can't figure it out ;). I have secured post as a consultant post and will be coming out initially of 482. My assessment by relevant college is completed and Ive been accepted for Specialist Assessment Specialist Pathway: Substantial comparability placement. This enables me to get provisional registration with AHPRA. I have applied for this and waiting for same to be completed to progress visa. Intention is to start work as soon as this is done. I have 75 points - Is it possible for me to apply for permanent residency when AHPRA paperwork through or will I have to wait 12 months until on general registration with AHPRA? Phoenix16 Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 I’m no expert and can’t offer any tangible advice, however, reading your post I would think as a complete layman that being accepted to the specialist assessment specialist pathway, being a consultant and having 75 points gives you some pretty fabulous chances to gain your PR pretty quickly and smoothly! Raul Senise Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 The rules and Regulations surrounding visas for Doctors are very specific and change regularly, with a new initiative starting today, see here. It is niche market and I would suggest using an Agent who specialises in Medical Practitioner visa applications. See here for some general information.
