HelsTJ
Can anyone help? I am an RGN with 20 years acute clinical experience, I am aware nurses now need to have a degreeto apply to work as a nurse. I am 45 in August and have just started the degree part time which will take 2 years, is there any hope that I would be considered for emigration in 2 years time? Or will I have missed the opportunity due to my age? Thanks in advance
NorthumbrianDavid
Not sure about the rest of it, but diploma trained nurses can still register in New Zealand and transfer that to AHPRA via TTMR (Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition). We've just gone through this. Which visa are you looking at? Are you the main applicant?
VERYSTORMY
I am afraid you have missed the boat for migration. The age cut off is 45. You could obtain a short term work visa for up to 4 years.
Wonderingaloud
Your experience only counts after you qualify so would needs afew years post graduation. Sadly I think you have missed the boat for permanent skilled migration. Any of the short term options are temporary and you would have to go home at the end. Do you have a spouse with a skill? Your age wouldn’t be an issue then if he was the main applicant.
