Indianinoz
Hello, A Company Limited by Guarantee(not for profit) is formed to raise funds for a noble cause. What are the license(s)/permit(s) required? The head office is based in QLD. It is in the process of applying for registration with ACNC as a charity and with ATO as a DGR(deductible gift rececipient). Can it still raise money now itself? Will be raising funds through: a) Online all over the world through online platforms like GoFundMe b) Local Australian donations through word of mouth and fundraising events
Skani
You should be guided by the lawyer and/or accountant assisting in the set up. They would be familiar with the Australian charities legislation.

Thanks Skani
Ken
It's not uncommon for appeals on platforms such as GoFundMe to raise money before the charity has been legally set up. Where the cause is related to something that has just hit the news that's often the only way to do it since it takes time you get set up and you get much less success at fund raising once it's old news. I don't know the exact legal situation with doing that - perhaps GoFundMe don't hand over the money until after the charity has been legally set up.
