I do not qualify on points as my job isn't on the current 'skills in demand ' list. The only way that my family and I can go is to apply for regional sponsorship and only the State of Victoria offers this. We want to settle in WA. Does anyone else have this same experience? janmal Posted July 10, 2008 Share Posted July 10, 2008 how do you not qualify, we have just sent our skills assessment off,my wife is a primary teacher we were going on a 175 visa which you need 120 points which we had until my wifes birthday and we lost 5 points because of her age so now we are going on a 176 sponsored visa she has an aunt and uncle who are willing to sponsor us, with this visa you need 100 points , with your occupation and age and doing an IELTS test and your o/h job can you not get enough points Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Please help!! Regards Caroline x hi i am a primary school teacher and we have had our visa granted two years ago and are hoping to go to Perth in July 09. We got in on a skills visa I'm sure, i will check when hubby comes in ours was a lengthy process took about a year and half before we got our visa. laurainlondon Posted July 11, 2008 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Hi Caroline, I too am a primary teacher, but I got a spousal visa to get into Oz (OH Ozzie) as it was alot quicker than applying for a skilled visa- which takes about 18months. Unless things have changed in the last 6months I can't see how you wouldn,t have enough points. Did you study for at least 4 years and have you worked as a teacher for at least 3 years f/time? I have a few "teachy" friends in WA and they are constantly moaning about the lack of teachers there- I think they are all in the UK!!!
