Dual nationality travel

Hi - this is a bit of an odd one but something that has been bugging me, and if anyone has been in a similar situation any advice would be great.

I have both British and an Aussie passport through decendance. I’ve always lived in the UK and am planning on emigrating July next year to Australia for the first time.

I’m a little confused as to which passport I should use in order to leave and enter each country. We are planning on stopping in Dubai for two nights to visit a friend on the way to Melbourne. So should I leave the UK and enter Dubai and Australia all on my Aussie passport? Or leave on my UK and enter on my Aussie? Or do it all on my UK with the correct travel visas?

Thanks in advance

I am a dual national and this is what I did when I visited Australia last year:

When booking the flight I gave details of my Australian passport.

At UK check in, showed Australian passport (they want to see you can legally enter without a visa).

At UK Immigration, showed British passport (shows you've been in the UK legally).

Boarding plan - use Australian.

Arrival - use Australian.

Hope this helps.
