  1. Hi My girlfriend and I are moving to Melbourne next July. She currently owns a 1996 Classic Mini and we are toying with the idea of taking it with us. Has anyone done this before with such an old car? Is it easy enough to do or are there a lot of hoops to jump through? Thanks [emoji16]
  2. Hi - this is a bit of an odd one but something that has been bugging me, and if anyone has been in a similar situation any advice would be great. I have both British and an Aussie passport through decendance. I’ve always lived in the UK and am planning on emigrating July next year to Australia for the first time. I’m a little confused as to which passport I should use in order to leave and enter each country. We are planning on stopping in Dubai for two nights to visit a friend on the way to Melbourne. So should I leave the UK and enter Dubai and Australia all on my Aussie passport? Or leave on my UK and enter on my Aussie? Or do it all on my UK with the correct travel visas? Thanks in advance Harry [emoji1360]
  3. Perfect. That’s made things clearer! Thanks a lot. Appreciated :)
  4. girlfriend. We haven't lived together for the required 12 months yet. we will have in Feb next year
  5. Hi Wonder if anyone can shed some light on my situation. My girlfriend and I are hoping to emigrate to Melbourne next year. Was hoping for July. I'm already an Australian Citizen through descendant's, so we are looking at partnership visa's. On the home affairs website it states that the partnership temporary visa can take up to 21 months to be processed outside of Australia, or 26 months if applied for inside Australia. Because of our goal to be there this time next year, we have been researching BVB Bridge visas. More specifically Bridge Visa B (The one that allows travel in and out of Australia within a certain time window). If we were to leave next July, would it be possible to get my girlfriend over on a working holiday visa initially, then apply for the partnership visa while in Australia, eventually put her on the Bridge visa until the Partner visa is processed? Has any one been in this situation? If so what did you do? Thanks in advance :D
  6. Awesome. Thanks everyone. I'll look into all of these!
  7. And also.. a rough estimate as to how much it will cost. I know obviously it will be down to weight of tools. But if anyone has done this before, just a rough estimate about how much it was would be great. Thanks
  8. Hi. Me and my girlfriend are beginning the process of emigrating to Melbourne late 2019/early 2020. I work as a mechanic and was wondering what was the most quick and efficient way of shipping my tools over was. Any info would be a huge help. Thanks.
  9. Im a mechanic in the UK. was wondering what the deal is with regards to shipping tools over to Melbourne. How do I got about doing this? is it easy enough to do or is it worth just selling all my tools over here and buying new when i arrive in australia? any info would be a massive help
