Visa Confusion

BGUK

Recommended Posts

Hi,

All very new to this visa journey.

My situation is I am still in the U.K. but plan to relocate to Australia to be with a man (who I will marry at some point).

I am a qualified teacher, plan to teach in Oz and over 45 years old.

Which visa is better for me? One of the skilled visa is for under 45 yrs old so that is no use.

Do we apply for an 'engagement' visa? Would this be a better option?

How long do visas take usually?

THANK YOU!

We do not meet the requirements for de facto. My partner lives in Australia and I am still in UK.

I am thinking a Prospective Marriage visa is better? It is less paperwork than a sponsored working visa?

May I ask if we do go for a Prospective Marriage visa, how long does it take? I guess I have to be in the UK still until I am able to fly to Oz?

Sorry if I am asking silly questions? If the Prospective Marriage visa takes too long to process, then should I apply for a holiday visa first, and apply for a Prospective Marriage visa whist living in Oz? Is this doable? Thanks.

You can't apply for a PMV onshore.

Do you mean a tourist visa?  You wouldn't be eligible for a working holiday visa due to your age.
