starlight7
With this huge proposed charge on people with cars over 10 years old entering London, I really can't understand why they are attacking those least able to pay. Where is the Labour party in all this? If I was living there I would be up on my soap box.
vickyplum
The Mayor of London (Sadiq Khan) is the one who wants to bring in the extra charge of 10 GBP on top of the existing 10 GBP congestion charge, and he is a member of the Labour Party I personally wouldn't say that having a car older than 10 yrs, means the owner is poor. Maybe they just have other priorities which exclude upgrading their car at frequent intervals., or it's just not a big deal for them. ScottieGirl
The only people living in central london are Russian oligarchs, Hedge fund managers, movie stars and Arab princes. Us mere mortals use public transport or drive round it. It only covers the very centre, the city and Soho.
bristolman
It certainly doesn't cover all cars over 10 years old. There was something about this on an owners group I am on and it doesn't seem to affect many cars from what they were saying.
bristolman
I just checked on of my cars on the website, it's 21 years old and a V8 but I wouldn't need to pay. Just checked our Jag and we wouldn't pay for that either, looks to be a bit of s storm in a teacup. bristolman
Um, hello, did no one read my post ? This isn't attacking the poor at all, it's actually going to affect comparatively few people really.
