RPL an educational qualification 190

Hi,

We had our RPL done by ACS. However, there is no mention of educational qualification in the assessment. This is for a mechanical engineer, applying for IT job as experienced in IT. Do we have to get our education assessed by someone? Does anyone have any experience on this? Thanks

No.

Any degree (in any discipline) held by the primary visa applicant and recognised as comparable to an Australian degree attracts 15 points for skilled migration.

Whether a degree is recognised as comparable to an Australian degree depends on the standing of the institution that conferred it

Most engineering degrees are OK.  If in doubt, search CEP and pay the $50, or post the particulars on the forum.

Hi, Thanks very much for the information. We have degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from India (4 year course).

Also I tried to find information about VETASSESS which many people have mentioned for assessment of the degree. Its a bit confusing as there are mixed responses.

DO you have any information on this please ? Thanks again.

You need to contact Engineers Australia for skills assessment for your occupation. Vetassess does not assess engineering qualifications.

Hi

We are also in the same boat with my husband having degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from India. We have applied our EOI for state nomination with out assessing his education. As you mentioned, there is too much ambiguity around this. We understand that if the degree is from a reputed university there should not be any issues. If you have any more information on this please can you share as well. Thanks.
