Hi,

i just want to know should the ielts result be valid at the time of decision as well?

when i applied for the visa it was valid but it took quite a long time to get a case officer and now my ielts has expired.

now the case officer is asking for the ielts result, i cannot produce it in 28 days. i have no idea why they are asking now.

please help

it should only be valid when you lodge your visa file.you should let your MA or case officer know that you have already submitted your ielts .and it is impossible to have a ielts date within 28 days of time frame .i hope it helps

I have a question, if the PCC from previous country of residence is valid at the time you lodge your application but expires while waiting for a CO, do we need to get a new one? ( eventhough you have not been back in that country since? I understand we need current PCC from current country of residence but not sure for previous countries.

i think your PCC should be valid when you lodge the file ,it does not matter if it expires in b/w .But i think it is in the hands of case officer too.just to be sure you can check with your MA. if i was you i would have get a new one just in case and to avoid all the hassle and delay.

I did inform to my case officer but she wrote your IELTs results have expired and will need to be resat in order to be valid. I don't know what to do now...

That depends on the case officer. We didn't have to redo our UK ones, but we did our Aussie ones. I know other people who have had to though.

Yes it needs to be valid at time of decision, same as medicals and Aussie police checks (if in Oz). We had to redo medicals and police checks (from UK so didn't need IELTS) but that was doable in 28 days. When is the soonest you can get booked in for a new test? Sometimes they will accept a receipt and let you go more than 28 days if they know it's coming.

IELTS is a time of application requirement. PCCs and medicals are time of decision and before the visa is granted (not after), COs have discretion to extend the visa validation date by a few months to give people time to enter the country.
