Hi all, getting impatient now, as I'm sure you all are.
Nomination applied 26th August and I applied for the visa 3rd Sep.

not heard anything yet and probably won't for a while, but I'm addicted to this thread. I know I need to just be patient!

has anyone who applied in August heard anything yet?

Hi rosie I know the feeling! I applied for the nomination in July and it took until November to be approved. My visa was lodged in August and haven't heard a single thing!! This thread is the only thing that keeps me going!!!

There have been grants over Christmas on previous years. I suppose it depends on how busy they are?

Thanks blossom:) I'm waiting 5 months now, really frustrating. Each time I ask my migration agent to contact immi or look into my visa they tell me they are not willing to do it as its in normal processing times and to just be patient. Been offshore makes it harder too

The next semester will start in Feb and I dont think my visa will be granted before that (thanks GOD if it will). Im just wondering if I should keep on studying until i get my visa (which is wat I really dont wanna do coz its too expensive) or just finish study to get on brigding visa?

Anyone got an idea pleaseeee help!!! I would really appreciate it!!!

You must comply with the conditions of your current visa until it expires or your 187 is granted. You've said that you have just finished your current course which implies that in the normal course of events (i.e. if you had not applied for the 187), your visa would be valid until March next year but you would not be expected to attend classes in 2015. If however your Student visa doesn't expire in March and covers some new or continuing course in 2015, then you will need to continue with your studies if your 187 hasn't been granted. If you don't do so, your Student visa will be cancelled and that will also cancel your Bridging visa A. You will then go onto a Bridging visa E which will have no work or travel rights.

Yea u were rite. My student visa is not going to be expired till 2017 coz i just renewed it in Sep, then the sponsorship came after by chance.

It really sounds like I will need to keep studying sth to wait for my visa to be granted. Otherwise i wont have rite to work which might affect my current position at work.

Hey, it normally takes 4 to 6 weeks for approval. I don't think you need to wait long, it's been a couple weekly already.

Good luck! Mine got approved within 6 weeks. Do you have a MA? Maybe ask them? Hope this helps!

It would be safe for you to have your medical now and you should also get PCCs. Both are valid for 12 months and you should get a decision on your visa application well before then.

Thanks ozmaniac... I already get pccs. Just thinking about medical. Will it be helpfull in quick decision for my file if I finish with medical. Do I have to wait again for 4-6 months, or it can be quicker than that.

Several people on this thread have been granted their visas very soon after their nomination was approved in DIBP had all of the required documents. Given that you can't get your visa until your medicals have been done, getting them now will prevent one possible cause of delay.

No you can"t. You have to lodged your own nonination !even though same occupation previous nomination have previous staff details so it"s omposible.

Another question!! sorry!!! So my case officer requested further information if I was still in a de facto relationship with my ex partner. I confirmed that I no longer was. Such a question been asked - does this mean my visa application is coming to a decision soon??? Or could I still have a long wait to go? Nomination was approved in Nov 4th and Visa app was made in August. Thanks for any advise!
