Tdmclagan Posted October 2, 2017 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Hi I wondered if anyone could help. I'm a social worker in the uk looking to emigrate. Currently in the process of my skills assessment. Until now we had been clear that we would apply for a 189 visa, however I wondered if someone could answer a few questions for me re the 190 can i I apply for both on the same eoi? If so, can I request which state I'd like to be nominated by? Or do I not get the choice? As I don't really want to go to SA or north QLd. Also if I turned down a state I didn't want to go to am I still able to stay on the list for 189. Any advice would be appreciated. VERYSTORMY Posted October 2, 2017 Share Posted October 2, 2017 You can submit eoi's for both. The sponsoring state is up to you. You will need to check which states are sponsoring as not all are. Also, you will need to check you meet any state requirements as many states will have them. These can include anything from having a job offer to having a minimum amount of funds and others. You need to be aware some states routinely refuse 190 sponsorship and offer 489 instead.
