Cromarty
Hello, I am looking to see if anyone could recommend a migration agent or lawyer who could help my small business become a sponsor of 457 visa holders (particularly doctors) in the Brisbane area. MaggieMay24
There are several good migration agents who post regularly on this forum. Look for @wrussell, @Raul Senise or @Alan Collett to name a few.
wrussell
In Australia lawyers are not permitted to offer migation advice, unless they are also registered migration agents. It is most unusual and probably not a viable exercise for a 'small business' to sponsor doctors. The requirements for being approved as a standard business sponsor and nominating a visa applicant, in paraphrase and summary, include: Operating lawfully in Australia Meeting the minimum Training Benchmark Visa applicant is essential to the operation of the business Local employee/s cannot be found There are strict caveats for some occupations and then come the really hard to satisfy criteria
Cromarty
Thanks for the reply @wrussell it is interesting what you say about 'small businesses' as a large number of GP practices are family businesses and most have doctors on 457 visas. My wife joined her small practice on a 457 before becoming PR. And can you elaborate on what you mean by 'really hardcriteria'. Thanks in advance.
