Can I do a different job to what's in my visa?

Recommended Posts

Hi

on paper I am a qualified electrical engineer, I have my city and guilds 232, but my job is basically glorified admin even though I am qualified.

My question is, if my visa is accepted with my qualification as an engineer, do I have to stay in that profession when in oz or can I do any job I please?

i was under the impression once my visa was granted I could do any job, but today I was told different and I am now wondering if I would have to stick to engineering when living down under ?

I am a qualified electrical engineer

Australian immigration and skills assessing authorities reserve the title 'Engineer' for degree-level qualified professioanal engineers.

From what you have posted, you might qualify to apply as an Engineering Technologist or an Electrical Engineering Technician, or in some related field; depending on your daily duties.

May I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for advice about your options?
