Blueboy Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 My partner and I are looking to migrate to Australia. I am an Australian citizen and my partner is British. We are both HIV+ (undetectable). We have read online that this could cause the application to be rejected. Is there anyone who has been in the same situation but had their partner visa granted? ANY advice would be appreciated!
Guest Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I would contact a reputable migration agent who specialises in medical issues and run your application past them to see if it's possible or not. And if need be, hire them to handle your application should you lodge.
Blueboy Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Thanks, I have been in contact with an immigration agent already and they have advised me to check these forums to see if there is anyone else in the same situation who had their visa granted.
MaggieMay24 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Each application will be assessed on its own merits, so even if someone else has had their visa application approved or refused, that doesn't mean yours would have the same result. George Lombard is the agent most frequently recommended for applications with health issues, so if you haven't already, you may want to contact him for a consultation.
wrussell Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 You should expect your partner might not meet the health criterion and you would have to rely on a waiver. May I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for a professional assessment of your prospects, befor you proceed?
