Hi All,

I'm relatively new to both Perth and the forum. Moved here in Feb and before I get a job (desperately trying but prospects not as good as had hoped) I'd like to enjoy the European Championships 10th June - 10th July. Does anyone know where the best places to watch the games will be, particularly the England matches? I'm thinking the casino may be the best (and possibly only) place to watch the games that will play at 2am WA time. I enjoy the uk tv footage and have a reasonable set up at home to watch the matches but wondered if there might be somewhere to watch with other football/soccer/England fans for the atmosphere?

Appreciate any thoughts. Many thanks

Matt

Sorry to hear that mate. What sort of work have you come from and what are you applying for? Is it really hard due to too many people looking for work or people being too picky (as in copanies being too picky?) Hoe you find some good work soon and that the government is helping you out mate.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments.

Re the work situation, when I first arrived there appeared to be loads showing on seek etc but it seems like that has changed massively. I'm on a skilled migrant visa but was hoping to take a bit of a side step... but now willing to do pretty much anything!! If I don't get anything soon, I guess I'll just have to watch every single Euro game!!

Thanks again for your responses.

Don't know where you live Matt but I bet the games will be on in a few places in Perth, Northbridge would be the best bet. Woodvale tavern is usually full of English football supporters. They had to ban football shirts there a few years ago because of fighting.

Maybe places in Joondalup too.

Good luck with the job hunting.

The goverment will not help you until you have lived here for 2 years, should be like that in the uk too, there are jobs out there but around 1500 people applying for them, this is only in Perth tho, Sydney and Queensland are doing very well x
