metalbox
We obtained our visa for me, my wife and our 3 children (now 17, 16, and 9) in 2013. We still haven't emigrated due to issues with family, business etc but plan to before the visa runs out. My question is that our eldest daughter is 18 in September - will she need to apply separately again or is she still covered by our initial family visa? I'm asking as I feel I remember reading that at the age of 18, children become independent (believe me, she's not there yet! ;-) ) Many thanks. Bungo
She still has a visa and no she does not have to apply again. Just as well as there are not many 18 years old that would qualify for a skilled migrant visa!
MaggieMay24
It's not a family visa, each of you has your own visa. As long as you each move over before the travel rights expire (5 years from the date of the grant), you can remain in Australia indefinitely. rammygirl
As long as the visa was validated and you settle before the five years she will be fine.
