Prescription charges

Hi folks. Can anyone tell me the cost of a prescription in Oz, please?! My husband has ventolin inhalers. Cheers!

I use ventolin.

You can buy them over the counter without a prescription for about $9.80 each.

But it is better to have a prescription as then you get 2 for about $9.80.

If you have a healthcare card it should come down to about $5.40

Asmol is slightly cheaper version of Salbutamol than Ventolin (which is a brand name).

How often does he use it? If you use your reliever medication more than 2 times in a week, guidelines recommend having a review with your Doctor.

He only used it once every couple of weeks, unless he's in a room where there are cats, in which case he's on it every ten minutes!
