timwain
After the arduous hoop jumping I finally got my perm partner visa. I have to enter Australia by early Dec 2015. Does my partner / sponsor need to be present when I first enter Australia or does it make no difference? Any help is appreciated.

I can't speak specifically about your sub class of visa, but from what I know, then the last date for entry is the date by which you have to enter Australia in order for your visa to be activated. It's all electronic and basically your passport/visa status will change to on-shore when you enter. If that is before the date upon which last entry is granted then my understanding is that is the requirement. No one actually checks anything physically so whether or not your partner is with you or not should make no difference. Just my opinion, so best wait and see what others have to say, especially anyone who has applied for your visa too.
Seppo
My PR spouse, visa sub class 100, arrived one month after me (US/Aus citizen), so the answer was (in 2008) no.....May have changed seven years later, but I wouldn't think so; easy to check on website or ring up DIBP... Quinkla
It makes no difference. If you have a permanent visa you don't even need to ever see your partner again.

wrussell
Thanks all, seems quite clear........also given me other options in regards to my partner:wink::wink::wink: Be careful about options. If you intend to do anything dramatic, take some professional advice.
