littlebritt
Hi my husband has just received a positive skills assessment and 9s in his IELTS. We are going for state sponsorship but have to have a minimum 12 month contract job offer before we can lodge our visa application. Any advise? We are not sure how possible this will even be from the UK.
birsisa
Won't you wanna consider other visa options that do not require a PM job as criteria for application ? like 189,190 etc
srg73
Project management has become a very generic term like engineer! What is his speciality, qualifications and experience? If construction including services etc then it will be hard work due to the closure of the mines and return of locally experienced PM's who can afford to work on short poorly paid contracts. I am a PM with Chartered qualifications within the building industry with 20 years experience, still it has been hard to get work although secured a perminant job before leaving the UK. Also consider if 190 is the best visa for you, 189 has advantages. S

I assume that the occupation is on the CSOL only and you have therefore ruled out the 189? To be honest when a state does ask for a job contract, it doesn't bode well for overseas applicants. In practice these sponsorship slots will go to somebody that is already in the state, working in the occupation on a temporary visa amd wanting to go permanent. VERYSTORMY
When WA makes roles schedule 2, it is usually a good indication that there is no shortage of people for that occupation
littlebritt
Thank you for all your advise. He works as a project manager for traffic/infrastructure with electrical engineering projects, which is quite a specialised sector. He has no engineering qualifications but lots of PM ones. I wondered where all of the construction PM jobs had gone, now I understand. I certainly had the impression since starting to read this forum that unless in WA work is going to be hard to find. Yes the job is on schedule 2.

This is the only way in other than employer sponsorship for us as his job is only on the WA state sponsorship list.

The reality is that there is very little chance of moving to Australia under this occupation code.
