Woodsy
Hi, I'm wanting to come out to aus next year on a working holiday visa. I'm looking to get a job in the sector I already work in, drainage repair and installation. I'm also a 360 excavator driver here in England. What area am I best looking at coming to? And what chances are there of me finding a job? Thanks x
VERYSTORMY
Hi and welcome. Check out seek.com.au Be aware your 360 license is not recognised here.
Woodsy
Thank you. I have looked online at getting an Australian licence it's about $1800 for a 35tonne licence. Got to be worth getting that once I'm over there
Bungo
Thank you. I have looked online at getting an Australian licence it's about $1800 for a 35tonne licence. Got to be worth getting that once I'm over there Do you reckon? Seems like it could be a waste of money to me, this visa is designed for holiday makers wanting to make a bit of money to help fund travels. dxboz
You do know u can only work for one employer for 6 months on a WHV?
Woodsy
Yes I'm aware of that, was thinking of just shifting around company's, with a ticket like that surely it isn't too hard to find work? Or do you think I'm better off just being a labourer? The plan is, if everything goes ok and I'm enjoying it etc, that i apply for another whv that's why I'm thinking getting the licence when I first arrive and have the funds available is best? VERYSTORMY
To be honest, I would just look at labouring jobs. Once you are with a company, you can get a feel for if it might be worth doing. But, machine operators here are VERY common.
