misskayleigh
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has flown with Garuda Airlines? I was certain I was going to fly with Singapore, the reviews speak for themselves, but Garuda is currently coming in at £140 cheaper?! just wondering what people's opinions are? Thanks :-)
Guest
All things being equal Singapore. What is the total travel time of each?
misskayleigh
All things being equal Singapore. What is the total travel time of each? 25 hours Singapore. 36 hours Garuda but the times make it possible for a hotel stopover... All depends on the hotel price as to whether it would be worth it. Thinking I'm still going to go Singapore, I'm a slightly nervous flyer that hasn't flew for longer than 4hrs 15mins so might feel more comfortable with a company I had previously heard good things about. srh82
Flown with Singapore a few times they are fine. Not flown with Garuda but their reputation is fine too but Jakarta airport has a reputation for being chaotic. Recommend you take Singapore option....25hrs is long enough. Chortlepuss
No brainer unless $140 is a huge big deal. Singapore a vastly superior airline (I'm put off Garuda by their early poor safety record but think they may have improved now). Plus Singapore a better airport to transit and much better flight times.
JockinTas
If I had to choose, I'd go with Singapore. I flew with Garuda a number of years ago and that long flight is a killer.
misskayleigh
Thanks guys I think I've definitely made my decision. Singapore it is :-). It's £140 which is currently about $280, which could go into savings for when I arrive so just wanted to make sure :-)
