Hi Guys,

I am based in Adelaide at the moment and need to apply for Permanent Residency status.

Some facts about me:

I am 40 years of age

I have got my skills positively assessed by VETASSESS under ANZSCO Code 132111 showing 10 years of international work experience.

I am Post Graduate Diploma in Management (specialising in marketing) holder

I have appeared in IELTS and waiting for the result

My wife has completed her 1 year (out of 3 years) of regular PHD from University of Adelaide on International student Scholarship

My wife has IELTS 8 band in academic.

Wifes age is 34years.

I need some crisp advise as to what is the process further and what else I need to qualify for applying the same. Advise will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Ash

Hi,

I have checked my occupation is on CSOL ANZSCO Code 132111

My points break up is as follows:

15 points for the age

15 points for the overseas work experience

15 points for Graduate degree

15 points or 20 points on English IELTS result is awaited.

Total 60 points I should have minimum.

I your occupation on the SOL or CSOL?

have you calculated your points?

Yes I have checked CSOL list. This is at medium availability in SA and does not have any conditions.

HVe you checked to see if any States are sponsoring that occupation - being on the csol it would require state sponsorship. Also, check if any special conditions are put on by the states.

You should apply to South Australia for nomination for state sponsorship and submit an EOI nominating SA as your preferred state. All you need to get an automatic invitation for a 190 application is nomination approval and the bare minimum of 60 points. You get 5 points for a state nomination so even if you only get 10 points for Proficient English, you will get an invitation as soon as you have met the requirements provided there are still visas available at that time - we're getting towards the end of the Program Year so it's possible the overall visa ceiling may be reached before you get an invitation.
