LauraF
Hey guys. I've looked into this and it appears as though I can leave and re-enter Australia on my temporary 820 visa as long as my PR isn't granted while I'm away for 3 weeks in the UK? I just wanted to confirm whether anyone has done this and whether there were any problems getting back in? I tend to worry... a lot! and just want to make sure I won't be stuck back in the UK as that would be the worst possible thing that could happen! Cheers. Quinkla
I travelled in and out on an 820 with no problems. The visa does allow travel.

wolvesaussie
Does what laura said about being granted pr make any difference? My girlfriend currently on the temp partner is eligible for permanent resident visa in September but she will be in uk most Dec and jan. If it's granted then will it cause issue ? Quinkla
When the forms come through for converting to the 801, they ask for any projected travel dates. You are supposed to notify DIBP of travel outside Australia if you are likely to be out of the country at the time for grant so they can delay the grant until you are onshore again. wolvesaussie
Ah great thanks i have spent over an hour on hold to them trying to find out the answer to that
CollegeGirl
You actually don't have to be onshore for a PR grant anyway, actually. You can be anywhere in the world. It's only onshore TEMPORARY visas where you have to worry about that.
