Move my company to Australia.

Hi guys.

 

I will soon move to Australia but I have a part time company and would like to move that business to Australia.

This is an online company and I would like to relocate the address and everything else.

 

Any help is appreciated. :biggrin:

You should look into getting an ABN. Other than that, as it is an online company, there doesn't seen to be much to move.

Rupert - there is more to what is being planned than getting an ABN.

 

Consider the ASIC registration too. What is being set up in Australia: a branch? A subsidiary company?

 

Tax file number for the Aus company? PAYG registration? GST registration? Business name registration? Domain name registration? Insurances?

if it just a domain name, why not just leave it as is?

That business income will be considered overseas income when you move here - potential tax implications. Registering for an ABN and GST is good at early stages so that you can offset any potential losses with your personal income. Once the business is up and running you may want to consider ASIC registration with franked payouts etc but like Alan mentioned, it's strategic and you need professional advice. Good luck.
