Tootsie30
Hi all I'm just trying to get the facts correct about apply for citizenship . i know under the act of 2007 that you need to do 4 yrs with with 12 months being a pr and being in the country no less than 90days before application. but I'm sure I read if you had permanent residency before 2007 you don't have to do as long .:elvis: example myself got pr when I was 12 and I'm now 30, I have always just got a resident return visa when I've needed to return. I'm currently in the uk but am moving back to oz this year, as I'm aware the time I'm back in the uk I lose the time I've spent in oz. im sure I read that if you had applied for pr before 2007 you can apply for citizenship after spending 2 years in Australia. Please correct me if anyone knows.
lebourvellec
I would have to find the information but I'm sure there was a cut off until 2010 that people could still use the 2 year PR to get citizenship if gained PR before 2007.
