Eddie10
Hi I have just been offered a job in Oz on a 457 visa. I would like to know how much tax I will be paying on a gross income of 85k in Perth. http://www.paycalculator.com.au/ has been a help but what boxes should I tick on a 457? Once I know how much I have to play with I can then look at how much we can spend per week on rental..
blossom
Welcome to the forum. As long as you work for them for more than six months you are a resident for tax purposes (yay).

VERYSTORMY
The contract will tell you if it is inclusive of superanuation or not - important as it is 9.5% of the salary. You will most likely be resident unless it is only a 6 month contract Include the tax free threshold as most employers will not let you be paid without it Leave off HECS Leave off the student supplement
Perfect Pudding
Hi Eddie, I was on 85k base plus super, my take home was just short of 5k per month. If it is only one household salary, you don't want to be going over $500-550 per month, otherwise you will find all work and no play ( Food and dining out etc are more than you would be used to in the UK.
