medical help

There would be nothing to stop you arranging your own medical report from a doctor - you might even persuade a panel doctor to do one for you - and a chest x-ray. You would have to pay fees, of course. These might not tell you anything useful, though. Sure, they would tell you if you would have got an A and passed the medical. But if you got a B, it would only tell you that there was an issue that would be referred to DIBP. It would not tell you whether the DIBP Medical Officers would have determined that you had met or not met the health requirement.

I think in most cases, people with health conditions that could lead to rejection would already know about them. It is unlikely - although still possible - that you would get a bolt from the blue.

does anybody no if you can do a pre medical check to see if you would pass the medical for your visa or can u only do the medical at the end of your application, it seems a lot of money to pay out if you mite get refused entry for failing a medical.

I agree with Quinkla on this. You could get a medical done, but the assessment is done in Australia not by the panel doctor, so you won't know if you pass or not.

If you are worried about something in particular, then the best advice is to consult a migration agent who has some experience in handling cases with medical concerns (e.g. George Lombard). If you have no health concerns that you are aware of, then it is very unlikely that the medical taken as part of the immigration process will be the means you find out.
