Help! Nursing jobs - how do I get started?

Hi all. I've finally got my nurse registration from AHPRA and have seen a few mental health jobs I want to apply for. In the UK it was quite normal to visit a place informally before applying. Would anyone be able to tell me whether it's the same over here in Melbourne? I think it'd be really useful but I don't want to fall at the first hurdle by seeming too forward. Also, any tips generally about job applications would be much appreciated as I feel a bit clueless at the moment :dull: Many thanks.

It's acceptable in NSW. Lots of people ring and leave CVs in case of potential jobs. Good luck with the job search!

it is my experience that the direct approach is better here, and not seen as forward at all. There is a very mobile workforce in health.

Thanks Gilraen, I'll get started with the direct approach tomorrow
