Am I naïve to think this is a UK thing? Those that live in Oz or are from Oz, how would this be received by Australians? I find the governments progressively shocking leniency on filth to be almost unbelievable. I don't understand the 'human rights' card that's used for the benefit of criminals. saying that the case where it mentions the grandfather and similar cases like that should be reviewed. If these people can be removed from registers then how do we know who we can trust around our children in cases like teachers, child minders etc....as far as people dropping kids off at school and clubs and things I would never kick up a fuss if I had to be CRB'd beforehand...that is a small price to pay which would ensure those children's safety. xxlornaxx Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 But thinking about it...I knew a sex offender who was very old and at that point unable to move, speak, eat or do anything for himself..yet he ws still on the register and so police had to be involved in several instances if he was being taken anywhere. .despite it being a physical/mental impossibility for him to harm anyone ..that was a waste of police resources really...but overall I agree that the majority should remain on the register Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jodipodi Posted November 5, 2013 Author Share Posted November 5, 2013 I can see your point, I can also see why people moan about the fact that they were thinking of introducing CRBs for people/relatives etc who do the school runs and such...but I just cant justify taking anyone who can commit a sexual offence of a register which protects the vulnerable, I can see the financial burden/police time burden of leaving people who are in the main 'unable' to commit offences and the implications of certain circumstances. The trouble seems to be both here and in Australia by the looks of it there are to many people willing to stand up for the offender rather than giving a duty of care to the victims, i agree with everyone else and it makes my skin crawl to be honest.
