ginger
Hi my friend is engaged to an Australian citizen, he also has a 1 year old daughter with her. He is currently on a 457 visa and was going to go for an ENS186 but worked has gone down the sh*tter and he may lose his job. What options does he have visa wise or can he stay in the coiuntry due to his exceptional circustance? Please any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance ginger

nicolac34
It's pretty simple, partner visa or a prospective marriage visa. Surprised they've not done this already to be honest - especially considering they have a child together!

Thanks in advance ginger There is noting particularly exceptional about the circumstances and no exceptional actions are required. A partner visa will cover it as others have stated. lebourvellec
PMV can only be applied for offshore. As they have a child within the relationship if he can prove they have been in defacto relationship for 2 years he would likely get PR straight away. AJ
If its that urgent and he needs to stay am sure a few hundred $$$ is better than having to leave!
lebourvellec
Thanks all, it looks simple but the price has recently doubled....good timing? Thanks again ginger The price has not doubled - it increased in January from around $3000 to almost $4000. Any other PR options would cost about the same.
