Mirwais
Hi, My wife is pregnant and may not undergo Chest X-ray. In these circumstances, can I request for her VISA to be held until baby born and included in VISA application via form 1021 and my VISA processed in the normal manner? Even if I do Chest X-ray for her, can I still request CO to hold her VISA and process mines so as to avoid great inconvenience between complying with initial entry date and Child Visa processing. Due to some commitments, I may not be able to put my VISA on hold.

Rupert
I cannot see any advantage for this approach, only disadvantages. This is your wife, get your visa together.
blossom
I'm not sure if it is even possible, as non migrating dependents have to have medicals too. You might be best checking this with an agent.
rammygirl
They will hold the visa for everyone until the baby is born. Do you have to be in Oz urgently, would you go without her and new/imminent baby? They will continue to process the visa ready to grant anyway - they will wait for medicals then grant if all is OK.
