Rossmoyne
I accept that Australia isn't for everyone, but don't get why people have to get so bitter and twisted. If somewhere else will make Alicia3 happier, I hope she looks into it. However the caveat is still relevant that the grass isn't always greener. Totally agree and couldnt have said it better. dmjg
I get a payrise from the 1st if July! 45c per hour! What shall I spend it on?? Thats about $17 per week, $80 per month and $900 per year. Obviously the actual amount will be less depending on your tax band. But even on 40% tax you get an extra $500 ish. For me, that would be the cost of my mobile for the year. ETA you could buy a few more pots or half barrels to grow more food in and get a double bonus.

Ramblingrosie
Really glad its all working out for your RR.How's the OH's job going? It's going well thanks! It's the same job he was doing in the UK for the parent company and he's got several colleagues out here who he has worked with before, so he's slotting right in. The company wives have been helpful and welcoming to me too and I knew a couple from before. Tell you another thing that are cheaper here -Apple products. My husband has just gone out to buy himself a new iMac and it's about a third cheaper than in the UK. Rosie, x
