Migration/ working visa issues

Hello everyone!

Got afew issues and wondered if anyone could help shed light on afew things.

My brother is wanting to come and work in Australia he is aged 32 married with two children occupation Carpenter/Joiner. He had a permeant residency visa when he was younger but he let it laps and expired, but he came under my parents visa as he was under 18 when we applied.

Myself and both my parents still have valid Permeant residency visa.

As far as I'm aware my brother would not qualify for a holiday/working visa due to his age, and wanted to know if his only options would be to apply in his own rights for permanent residency for himself and family or a work sponsorship visa.

If anyone knows of any other way he could come and work in Australia ASAP as he has had the option of some good work for afew months please could you advice ?

also does anyone know if he would be fast tracked as he has a trade and direct family out there?

Would it be possible for my farther to sponsor him for work as he is in the same trade.

Many thanks

If he wants to move permanently then I would recommend skilled migration. It might not be the quickest visa but it is probably the most appropriate to his needs and quickest visa and best visa are not the same thing.

It is pretty unusual for carpenters to get sponsorship and if one did it would in all probability be a temporary sponsorship, so there would only be a permanent visa application to go through at some stage. If this sponsorship is by his father, then he should expect a lot of scrutiny, DIAC are suspicious of such things and are cracking down. I just wouldn't go there, after all what is the rush, he has been living elsewhere all this time.

His father would need to employ other carpenters on a perminant basis to qualify as a sponsor, and have training systems in place. Casual staff are not good enough.

The skilled independent visa would be by far the best. It won't be mega quick, but that's life.

Firstly many thanks for your advice, always very helpful.

before he goes down the root of applying for skilled migration. Do you think there would be any chance of them opening hes old case (resident return visa) or would it have been to long ok ?

O really best get things moving then !

does make you release how lucky you are when you have a visa to be in oz. I'd like to think it could maybe give him points by having both his parents and sister out there?

Family sponsorship is worth very little and if he can get a visa without it, it is a much better visa too.

check out this and then tel a Mara registered migration for advice such as Go Matilda or Ian Harrop as he may still have a route in and it is always better to check out your options with a specialist- they often give the first 15 mins free of any consultation and will advise if it is complicated or not

good luck
