Ozie
Hello! I am going to emigrate from Sweden to Australia within one or two years. :daydreaming: Now I would like to open an Australian bank account in order to place some money Down Under in advance. Which bank and what kind of an account would be the best for me? Looking forward to a little answer from somebody. Kindly Marie
Guest The Pom Queen
Hi Marie NAB are probably the best as they don't charge you monthly fees for having an account. Plus your debit card will be ready and waiting for you as soon as you arrive. http://migrant.nabgroup.com/en
Ozie
Thanks! Will I get any interest of my money if I choose NAB? Any other bank, that you can recommend that has acounts with interest? What about Poms in Oz & Moneycorp?? MeBank, which seems to have high interest (http://www.savingsaccountfinder.com.au/members-equity-savings-account/me-bank-online-savings-account)
Guest The Pom Queen
Yes you will get interest although bear in mind you will be taxed on interest until you provide your TFN with any bank.
