jimmyay1
After yesterday's roasting temperatures spare a thought for the wild animals around us. On a walk through the eastern bay suburbs this afternoon when it was cooler we saw several dead marsupials (not sure which, seemed smaller than possums, rather like squirrel sized) and birds that appeared to have literally fallen dead out of the trees yesterday (fresh corpses) It was frighteningly hot here yesterday , even for humans. I can only think if you have a garden , perhaps putting some water out on a hot day might just save the life of some of these poor creatures. I thought most creatures in Oz would be well adapted to the heat, clearly not when it gets extreme.
calNgary
I read an article on the internet today asking people to put out a bowl of water for the wild birds as some may struggle to find water in the prolonged heat. Cal x
Love Shoes
We have a bird bath in our garden, and it it is nearly always busy. The frogs come out when our neighbours sprinklers come on in the evening too, lots of them. These poor animals must struggle, so it's kind of people to help them survive ......
