Raj27
Hi, I am currently holding 457 visa. And I have read in Medicare website "Visitors to Australia from a country that has a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia are also eligible for medically necessary treatment". But my country does not fall under Reciprocal Health Care.Furthermore, some of my friends are telling me that 457 visa holders can have medicare? Is this information true. Please let me know. Many thanks. Regards, Raj
Rupert
You need to take out medical insurance. If you are not from a country with reciprocal cover then you cannot access medicare.
cloclostravels
If you are not on the medicare list you visa may require you to take our private health care or it may be up to you. But if anything happens to you and you need to visit the doctor or hospitals you will have to pay the full fees.
lebourvellec
You must have appropriate health care while you are on a 457 visa this is to comply with the 8501 condition on your visa.
