  1. It sure will. Im sure they will be soo quiet they are so interested in 'prosecuting' someone for having an opinion. As I mentioned at the beginning of that comment was ' I dont want to give wrong information' Cleart stating right there that I was not 100% sure on the information about ABNS. However im sure chasing backpackers who dont lodge a tax return and ones who have opinions are at the top of their list. Because of course every backpacker that goes through the country knows the australian tax laws, right.
  2. yes too different messages, Im not disputing my job status am I! But as you just stated right there... If im honest backpacker to backpacker... Thats my opinion... sue me for having an opinion!
  3. Did I say my company adivces it, no i did not I said backpacker to backpacker meaning me. Thank you very much
  4. And exactly where have you seen me use my company name. All I said is I work in tax returns. There is nowhere I am using any company as for cloclostravels that is MY PERSONAL WEBSITE that has no connections to my job of any sort thank you very much. so please feel free to report cloclostravels to the tax office because I have nothing to do with tax on my website if you actually looked there is nothing to report! And in regards to backpackers the cruitical line for claiming a tax return does come down to 6months you can chuck any loophole in there you wish but at the end of the day if you are here for less than 6months then you are classed as a Non resident for tax purposes on which you will then be paying a high tax threshold which will then incediantly you will end up owing the tax office money. Anyone that has been here for 6months or intends to stay in one place or work for 6months can then declare themselves as a resident for tax purposes. Please don't insult me. And in regards to tax evasion are you saying I invaded the UK as I never lodged a tax return there until 2012 and I lived there my whole life?
  5. I had some guy that is now here on a bridging going for a defacto visa with an Australian and he lodged his tax returns from when he was on a working holiday visa in 2003/2004 with me! Your not really invading anything... its like the UK I have never lodged a tax return there until last year and im a UK resident!
  6. I dont want to give you wrong information but in regards to ABN you have to pay your own tax at the end of the tax year... If im honest backpacker to backpacker... if you are leaving after your 2nd year just dont bother lodging any tax returns at all (if you owe 20000!!!) For your girlfriend the end of the tax year is june 31st she can lodge a tax return then. The first 18000 she earns is tax free then she will be taxed on the remaining. My first year here I paid around 6500 and got 5000 back and earn just under 30k that year. just to give you a rough idea!
  7. I work in backpacker tax returns. First of all you will be classed as a 'resident for tax purposes' as you have been here for more than 6months. There is normally a 18,000 threshold tax, (obviously you have passed this) Do you plan on styaing in oz to go onto residency etc? In regards to workin part ABN and part Tax you can lodge them together and then the balance of the tax will come of the abn, I will probably advice you using a company though as that can get pretty complicated!
  8. Ive met quite alot of people who done the round the world ticket (i havent personally) but there is a very common one that goes to thailand, australia, new zealand, fiji,la, london for around 1500 I think. (STA Travel is normally the chosen travel shop for this) If you have plenty of money Id say make the most of it and just travel what you can, Australia is beautiful though and if your looking for a luxury holiday after/inbetween defiantly go over to fiji, lovely spot! As mentioned above depends on what visa you want to get it, if you plan on working then you will need the WHV but if you are only going to be travelling you can get the tourist one and do a trip inbetween to nz, fiji or wherever to break up the 6 months (you can stay in the country for 3 month intervals for up to a year, so as long as you leave before 3months you can come back straight after) There is so many different options out there so it all depends on what you want to do
  9. Check out global fx or fair fx. These are travel cards that you can put your english money onto and you dont get charged withdrawel fees, better exachange rates etc. With Australia banks if you withdraw from a different bank it costs you $2 a time so the best 2 banks are westpac and commonwealth as I find their atms always close around! pop onto ato.gov.au and you can lodge for your tax file number (NI) as soon as you enter into australia. You can use any address (e.g hostel) and just get your card sent there or to the bank you ordered it in.
  10. With farm jobs they dont tend to interview people! You can normally just call them talk to a farmer and he could be like come up! Most common places farmers advertise is harverst trail and gumtree. There are loads of working hostels around which farmers will hire from so that could be another option then once your on the farm look at working direct for the former or get some contacts. As other people said if a farmer needs someone they are going to chose someone who is right there. But also check out harvest trail. or try googling farms and areas and getting in contact with them directly, I think QLD is the biggest on farming, that is my persoanl opinion. Your best option for travel ins oz is bus or planes. Bus companies, Greyhound and Premier. Flight companies, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Tiger Airways and Qantas. They do have trains here but Ive only ever used it once (syd-melb) around 150 return Ithink.
  11. Depends on what sort of work you are looking for. I think it depends on how much you are looking and if your willing to be flexiable! Average pay here is $20 an hour, so you will be looking at taking around $600 home a week (give or take) with that say $150 on accom 50-100 on food you can still be saving yourself $200 a week ish. To work in Bars in Australia you need a 'RSA' Responisable service of alochol certifcate (different to each state) so keep this in mind. Also call centre work is easy to pick up, Building labouring. Keep an eye on gumtree/Seek. They were my best too. And try sign up with as many agencies as possiable, at least then you have them out there looking for work for you at the same time! Everything seems to fall into place when you get out anyway
  12. Average pay rate for farms now days is $16-$20 unless its per what you pick rate! I love how the locals moan that bacpackers are taking all their work but yet farmers are happy to lay backpackers off in school holiday times to give school leavers work. Along with the fact half the older locals will not put half the effort in or even want the jobs!
  13. Somone just said tome all applications are on hold since december due to the ellections... Well thats what his immigration lawyer tp.d him.. Sounds stupid to me... Also do u need to have a certain amount of experience for a 187 or just qualifcation?
