Visiting uk - flights

Hi all just a question or 2 with regards to booking flights back home.

 

I've been looking at flights for October 2013 and the prices seem reasonable...now I won't have the cash to book until August 2013. Will the flight prices go up by then does anyone know? also I have 5 of us to travel......will I get seats that late? and just one final question do prices drop last minute or is it always just expensive to visit?

 

Thanks.....I bloody wish we could book and pay in installments cos I'd love to 'know' I'm going home.

I had an emergency visit to uk mid October cost me just over $2000. Paid for 1 week before leaving.

Generally prices go up, the nearer the departure date the more expensive. Once the cheaper seats go, they get more expensive.could you borrow the money and pay it back, possibly family members?

You get some last minute cheapies though- but it is a risk. I'd try and book when they release the cheap fares next year-now is not the best time. Keep an eye on webjet and flight centre deals

booking as far in advance as possible is normally the best way....there are some last minute flights out there for a decent price but they'd not normally be cheaper, either just the same price as normal but a lot of the time they're more expensive !
