Tulip
In the manual PDF for a Partner Visa (309/100) it specifies that you must not use the decorative marriage certificate for the application. Can anyone tell me if they've been back to their church to get another copy and it looks any different? Because we got married in August we can't get it via the certificate ordering service online. Any experience with this much appreciated!
blossom
I wonder if this is for countries and religions who have a nice fancy one. We submitted the only marriage certificate we had and it was fine.
wellieboots
Where did you get married? I'm thinking maybe the Church of England from what you've said? So you only have the fancy handwritten version which you actually signed on the day? I think you need to apply to the Births Deaths and Marriages at the council to get a "formal" certificate, I understand that is the process. JoandJon
You need to apply for a 'proper' one from B,D & M - the pretty one they give you on the day is just for looks apparently!

johnaross
When I went to a Justice of the Peace in Australia to get my Australian marriage cert copied he mentioned that the Australian Government only recognizes the official marriage certificate which shows the witness names and signatures.
