Tink , im on back yard ect but they dont seem to respond to any new comers questions .......

 

Try the poultry forum on the site I gave you a link to a while back (re chook breeds)? Its a UK site but there are people posting from all over the world. And the guy who owns and runs the site is lovely. Very knowledgable. If you don't have the link PM me if you would like it.

We've just had to deal with a huge infestation of bird mites in the garden - I think they came in on pigeons then transferred to the chooks. They're tiny, like grains of pepper, live in the grass and my god, do they bite!

 

If you get them dust your coop liberally with sulphur powder to kill the ones on the chooks and spray your garden with soapy water every three days for 2 weeks, that seems to have eliminated them.

So happy, just went outside to check on my chickens and one of the chicks has hatched :animal-chicken: :cute:
