JoandJon
Hi everyone, A friend of a friend is arriving in Sydney around New Years and has 10 days camper hire to get to Adelaide. She's asked for advice for an itinerary - Melb to Adelaide I'd be fine with, but Sydney I'm totally lost!! Any suggestions?? Even if it's just places not to miss or places that are worth missing.... Cheers!
wakeboard1980
Coast road for sure. Just have a look on the map and work your way from Sydney to Melbourne, there are plenty of nice places, but 10 days from Sydney to Adelaide they will not have the time to see them all. JoandJon
She'd already booked the 10 days before contacting me - you're right it's really not long enough, just hope I can point her in the right direction to enjoy what she does see! wakeboard1980
Ive travelled the coast from sydney to Adelaide and would recommend spending most of the time along the great ocean road. I spent about 5 days along there. The south coast of NSW is great as well so would say to spend maybe 2-3 along there.

BritChickx
Definately canberra, melbourne, great ocean road, mount gambier and/or victor harbor. it is possible to do the great ocean road in a day from early in the morning to evening, we did it over one day and an hour or so the next morning, including a helicopter ride, can't be missed! At some point they should definately check out flinders rangers NP

sunniecat
as an alternative, sydney to canberra is about 3 hours, canberra to the snowies is about 3 hours, and then you can go on from there to melbourne, I guess it'd be another 5-6 hours (as an alternative to going round the coast). I love the snowies, but it's very dependent on preferences. Definitely go out of melbourne on the ocean road and then on up to adelaide round the coast.
