fifi69
Four of us went to register for medicare today. All quick and good but while sat tonight i mentioned that when i and youngest daughter (who are on same card) registered we were told that although the expiry card says 2016 we would need to re-register every year or until PR. OH and eldest daughter weren't told this. By the way we all saw different people. I dont have a problem with re-registering every year but surely everone should be told this if it it is the case. Can anyone clarify? thanks
Laugan
We are new to Medicare as well and our card needs renewing in a years time as well, if that helps?
LKC
Yes, on a 457 you will need to renew every year. If you become permanent you have to renew less frequently (might be five years, my card is in my car and oh took my car to work this morning so I can't check). It should have a valid to date on the bottom of the card, if I remember correctly. Edited August 12, 2012 by LKC

Alaska
We are on a 457 and the Medicare card says valid til Jan 2016. So I wouldn't think we would have to renew?
