Janie101
Hi there Can anyone recommend an agent who specialises in 175/176 skilled visas for Secondary School Teachers? Thanks Jane:wink:
lebourvellec
176/175 visas dont exist anymore for new applicants - See Skillselect. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ Go Matilda/Visa Buerau are both well reccommended agents on the forum. lebourvellec
Thanks for this Lebourvellec - sorry it was 176 when I did mine. Was it July this year it changed? Yes - You need a Positive Skills assessment and IELTS result before you can lodge an EOI. It is now 190 State Nomination and 189 Independent. Janie101
Thanks again. Is there still a SOL?
JohnAli
Yes there is still a SOL, last time I looked SA and Vic wanted teachers, we used Darren Chatt Visa Go but ended up not using my teaching used my OH profession as it was easier for us as we got WA sponsorship which went through in a day for us. Good luck. Thanks again. Is there still a SOL?
lebourvellec
Thanks again. Is there still a SOL? Yes - SOL 1 & CSOL, Im sure secondary Teacher is still on SOL 1. Also the points test is different, but the pass mark is now 60. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-tested-migration-fact-sheet.pdf The 190 is the prefered visa to go for now, as you automatically get an invite if State Nomination is Approved, the 189, yo uare ranked and people tith top points are invited to Apply. I havent looked through the SMP, but Im sure SA sponsors Maths Teachers. To be able to get a positive skills assessment for a Teacher - they need 4 years of university education, and certian amount of Supervisaed teaching practice. Certian teacher training methods in UK are not recognised (GTC)
Janie101
Thanks folks. Am I right in reading that if you are State Sponsored you will no longer have the moral obligation to live/work in that state?
