AJ
I had to give a copy of my passport and visa to the shipping company so I wouldnt think so. Why would you when you dont know when your visa will be issued, there could be a delay.
furkew
we shipped ours (5 years ago) and had no visa at the time. (we had sold the house & booked flights as well, but hey, whats life without taking a few risks here and there) I dont remember at the time ever needing to provide proof of a visa when organizing our container. rammygirl
You do not need a visa to ship things BUT a visa will allow you to import personal goods without any customs fees. That is why the shipping agents like you to have a visa as the goods are treated differently by customs. Why not ask a shipping agent for their opinion - I'm sure they will know the pros and cons apart from the obvious as stated above.
