    Hi all, I haven't read through the thread so apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but is anyone waiting on an application of citizenship via descent for their child/ren? I submitted an application in November 2020, since then the processing times have escalated but I'm interested in hearing of people's experiences. I am applying from outside of Australia. How long did it take to come through? Did your child/ren have to go through a citizenship ceremony? ETA- thank you!

    Hi all, I am yet to start my research on this but thought I'd ask here as well - I'm planning on heading back to Australia with my child some 6-12 months before my husband is due to join us due to work and other commitments here. Is this likely to have an impact on his visa application (spouse)? It just occurred to me that it might make it trickier to prove our relationship.

    Hi all, I hope you're keeping well. We are looking me and child going to Australia ahead of my husband, due to work and other commitments. Most of the house will get shipped later. I was thinking of shipping a small amount of personal effects like clothes, computer equipment, toys etc when we go - has anyone had any experience of this? Thank you TS

    Sorry, another question I can't seem to find the answer for yet (not started the online application so cannot see all the detail) - scans of passports etc, do these need to be certified?

    Thank you so much Almat, that is really helpful. I think I underestimated the level of detail I had to go into. Looks like a legal bundle! Which temporary visa have you received? I’d love to see the guide if you are willing to share, I’ll see if I can work out how to message you my email address.

    Also thinking about scanning documents, do they have to be scans or will photographs work? We don’t have a good scanner and struggling to find a new printer!

    Thank you so much, I hadn’t even considered the evidence part. We’re pretty slack with photos and hardly ever went on holiday but I’m sure we have enough mundane stuff to evidence things! I will download the forms and get a checklist together.

    Hi everyone, Hope it’s ok if I join? We’re just about to start this process, any advice gratefully received. I’m Australian, husband is British, 1 child who I need to sort out dual citizenship for (doing that now). We have been together in the U.K. for 12 years, married for 10, so hopefully things will be straight forward??
