    Thanks rammygirl. i had an initial screening interview with HSBC expat mortgages which was successful but I’ve got to wait three weeks before I can meet with an actual mortgage person and process the application. But as you say, expat mortgages have significant higher rates than the UK high street

    Hi, we currently own a home in the UK and we are living in Oz. We currently have a resident mortgage on our home with a permission to let agreed by our mortgage provider. Our fixed rate period is due to expire soon and our mortgage is about to get really expensive. Can anyone recommend an expat mortgage company that doesn’t require you to work for a multinational company? thanks, joe

    Applied 19/03/19. Married 11 years & two kids together (both Aussies). No agent and no RFI. Both 309/100 granted today. Waited 10 months. Leave for Sydney on 7th April 20. All the best to all those waiting!

    Hi, you’re on a similar timeline to us. We applied 19th March 2019. We also have heard nothing at all. Fingers crossed for everyone.

    I think most UK based applications are being processed within 12 months but as we all know there are no guarantees. Good luck

    SmileyD, you’re on a similar timeline as well. Have you had any RFI’s?

    Hi, Your timeline is similar to mine. I applied on 19th March, front loaded everything including medical and police checks but I’ve heard nothing. My wife and I have separate immi accounts and they appear to be linked in the same way as yours. Fingers crossed!
