  1. Thank you millski88 for the replies ! I have a couple of more questions 1. Does the person who signs this form need to provide any identity document ? 2. as I understand only 1 person needs to sign and fill this form is that correct ? 3. Also, does a radiologist or an Assistant valuation Actuary qualify to sign this document ? Thank you
  2. Thank you for the reply Millski. I have worked here for about 2.5 years now and they know me. Could you please let me know what you mean by "Genuinely" know. Is that the same as "know" ? Because, as I understand this form is only to confirm identity and hence they just need to state that they know me. It is not like we are close friends with some of these people but we know each other. Is that ok ? Or do they need to be close to fill this ? Also, does the person signing this form need to provide an identity document or something like that ?
  3. Hi Guys, I have a couple of questions about form 1195. 1. When could I get this form filled up ? It says the photograph can be at max about 6 months old. So the form would have to be filled at max within 6 months prior to the application date. However there is alsoone more section in question 1. It says to fill the "Transaction Reference Number (the number that you were given when you lodged your online application)". a. So could I have the form 1195 filled and then, when I start filling the application, add the transaction number required as above ? Or would it have to be that first start (or complete?) the application and then only get the form 1195 filled ? b. As I understand the form 1195 needs to be uploaded before submitting the application. So, would the above mentioned Transaction reference number be generated before the application is submitted or would it be generated after ? If it is generated after submitting application, then how could I input the transaction reference number and attach the form 1195 before submitting. 2. One of the occupations listed that can sign form 1195 is "Finance company officer with 5 or more years of continuous service" As of now , I work at as Information Technology person insurance company (Life and General insurance (and also does Investments such as Unit Trusts) Would a person working at such an Insurance company be eligible to sign the 1195 form ? If so what designations at the insurance company be eligible to sign this form? Below are some designations of people I know here. Please let me know which or any of the following would be eligible to sign this form? 1. Designation: Manager, Department: Investment Operations 2. Designation: Operations and Investor control, Department: Investor services 3. Designation: Data Analyst distribution, Department: Distribution analytics 4. Designation: Information Technology manager Department: Information Technology 5. Customer experience and retention manager Thank you
  4. Thank you guys for the replies. @paulhand If the condition is met, is there any advantage to getting an RRV with about 10 months to go for the existing RRV or would it be better to do it when there is about 1 month or so ? Thank you
  5. Hi guys, When would it be right to apply for RRV once you are eligible? Would it be ok to apply even if you have close to 1 year to apply or perhaps only a month or so to do it? Thank you
  6. Thank you for the reply Paul. Is this a concern from the perspective of citizenship application. Please let me know your take on this. This was the first time I lodged tax on my own in Oz and second tax lodgement overall in Oz. (The first one was done by Tax consultant). This is also the first time when I was required to pay medicare levy surcharge. I wanted to know the process to pay the surcharge tax. But as mentioned I forgot to do the same as I got busy in schedule. As mentioned I have paid it and the ATO shows $0.0 balance as of now. Thank you
  7. Of course. I was just saying I am confused since the MARA agent changed advice based on my questions and points. Thank you !
  8. Hi Amber, Yes it is a MARA agent. Confused about which advice I should take ? First one or the second one ?
  9. Hi Amber, Thank you for the reply. I checked with my agent now. He said as long as it is cleared then it is ok and we can say No to that. Then I highlighted the "EVER HAD" part of the question and also showed a screen shot of the letter from probe collections. Then he said to say yes and give the details that it has been paid already. So that is what I am thinking to do. It is confusing though what to answer in this.
  10. Thank you Ali. I am just looking understand the logic for this answer. To add further info this is the notification I was sent in Jan 2019 on mygov in ATO section" "You have an overdue tax debt › Your debt is growing daily › Please pay us or contact us in 14 days or you could face legal action Dear Name: Here is your debt Tax type Amount owing Income Tax $1,400.65 When you pay this debt you will be joining the millions of Australians who pay their tax to support our country and the Australian way of life. 11. Hi guys, Could you please provide any inputs on the question asked above ? We are using a MARA agent to do my wife's partner visa application. I asked him this question in email and he replied answer No to this question. Thank you
  12. Hi Wrussell, Could you please let me know why the answer should be No ? The question says "Have you ever had any outstanding debt" . Just want to confirm. I also double checked mygov portal just now and turns out I had received an online notification there in Jan 2019 as well (Notification on mygov reads "Overdue tax debt"). But I had not logged in then and so I only found when I opened my post mail box in around March 2019 (checked past emails to Tax accountant I had contacted about the Probe collections letter - correct date is March 2019 and not Feb 2019 that is mentioned above) and then I found letter from probe collections and immediately paid it. Thank you
  13. Hi guys, I am a permanent resident in Aus and am filling form-80 for partner visa application for my wife and for the question 36 in part-k there is a question to which needs to answer yes or no. The question is "had any outstanding debts to the Australian Government or any public authority in Australia?" When I filed the tax in Oct 2018, I received a notification that I need to pay $1450 as medicare levy. I had forgotten to pay that until around Feb 2019. I then received a letter from Probe Collections asking me to pay the due amount. I immediately paid the amount and it was cleared. What do I need to answer this question in form-80 that I mentioned in the first paragraph "had any outstanding debts to the Australian Government or any public authority in Australia?". Should I answer yes ? If so, what would be the impact of this ? I had inadvertently missed this and then when I got the letter I immediately paid it and cleared it. Also, what would it have any impact on citizenship application that I am looking to apply in a bit or so.
  14. Hi @Paul Hand Based on the dates provided in the first message of this, it looks to me that these conditions mentioned in your message are satisfied. Would you agree on that (Please assume the dates I have given are correct). The initial entry was more than four years ago and I did have a valid permanent visa on the date 4 years ago from approximate intended logdement date that I have mentioned. Also, could you please provide me a link to the Text that you have quoted on the chapter 7A ? Thank you
  15. Hi @Raul Agreed that the specific details of the calculation are unknown. However, as mentioned above further messages stated that he got approval. Appreciate you reply and agree on not speculating. However, one question I have is, if we only look at the dates from the quote (and no other specific details), and compare with the dates that I have mentioned in first message on this thread, do you think these are similar scenarios or are there some variations ? As said, looking for a reply only based on the dates and assumption the dates are correct - are the scenarios similar ? In mu opinion I think they are. But want to check if someone can confirm that (only looking at the info given and assuming it is correct) Also, could you please provide any further details on the experience that you have mentioned ?
  16. Hi Raul, Thank you for the reply. Is the scenario that is mentioned above messages on this thread (and quoted below) - not the same - where he was not in Oz when the four year clock started. And as per his subsequent messages he was able to apply, do the test and was approved with this. It looks similar scenario. Please let me know if you think it is not same scenario ? "Arrived on Torist Visa (12/12/06) Departed on Tourist Visa (9/1/07) Arrived as PR (12/01/08) Departed as PR (27/2/08) Arrived as PR (28/3/08) Departed as PR (10/6/09) Arrived as PR (21/7/09) - Have remained here ever since If I use the date of 12/12/06 as the Lawful residence date, the calculator says I can apply on 20/3/2011."
  17. Hi Maggie Thank you for the reply. "were you a legal Australian resident during that period (temporary visas including bridging visas count) ?" To this question, the confusion is should the person be in Oz on the day looking 4 years from the intended date of lodging it or would holding a valid visa (PR for example) and having been in Australia for a few days before that be enough to fulfill this requirement. "were you outside Australia no more than 12 months?" To this question, the confusion is, even if one was away for more than 12 months after having visited once, whether it would be sufficient to look four years ago from lodgement date and the total number of months away is a bit less than 12 months is that ok (given one was not in OZ at that point 4 years ago) and one can apply then ?
  18. Thank you for the reply Phoenix. A couple of points: 1. I found on another forum (looks like link should not to be given here) that one of the members had the below dates and was approved as per his comments by applying on 22/03/2011 Arrived on Torist Visa (12/12/06) Departed on Tourist Visa (9/1/07) Arrived as PR (12/01/08) Departed as PR (27/2/08) Arrived as PR (28/3/08) Departed as PR (10/6/09) Arrived as PR (21/7/09) - Have remained here ever since If I use the date of 12/12/06 as the Lawful residence date, the calculator says I can apply on 20/3/2011. The dates mentioned above seem to be of similar scenario to what I have given in my first post on this thread. The person with the dates mentioned above in this post has been approved as per his further comments. Could you / someone please double check and confirm if I got it correct that it is the similar scenario ? Of course the above forum message was 8 years ago so not sure about the rules as of now. 2. I have also given a link to a post in this forum on the first message I wrote - and @Paul Hand has replied to what I think is a similar scenario (Please correct mw on this) and has said that it is possible. He is a MARA agent and has another view. Not sure which one is accurate. Please let me know your comments Thank you
  19. Thank you for the replies guys. This is a confusing subject with opinions on indicating opinions on either view in various forums.
  20. Hi guys, Could you please help me with the calculation of the residence for the application for citizenship: PR granted date - May 2015 Initial Entry date : May 2015 Absence - June 2015 to Feb 2017 Stay here in Oz from: March 2017 Date to apply for citizenship: As per my understanding from what I have read online and answer to similar question in below link, the date for apply can be March 2020. This link is from this forum: I think the above link has shows a similar scenario that I have shown in the dates given above here. However, as I was looking, found another link given below, it is the 2nd comment by MARA agent, which indicates different as compared to the above link. Could you please help me know which date I can apply and what is the correct explanation for this question ?
